It's here it's here it's here it's here! It's finally here! The New Orleans Modern Quilt Guild's 1st Annual Fall Retreat is upon us! Waiting for this has been like waiting for Christmas morning. Torturous...and slow...but more than worth the wait :)
There will be much cutting, sewing (in pajamas), ironing, me burning myself on the iron, eating, Glee watching, i've-been-up-all-night slap happiness, innapropriate joke making (*cough* Karen...hehe!) and a few surprises. Sometimes being the boss is fun because you get to know things before everyone else....mostly because you're the one inventing the surprises ;)
I hope you all have a lovely and restful weekend! I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but it's been perfect here the last few weeks. It happens the same every year, but every time I'm caught off guard by it. One random day in October, the humidity will just disappear...like God flipped a switch and declared "be sticky and frizzy and miserable no more New Orleans!" And I'm always wary because I think the humidity is playing a cruel trick on me.
Humidity: "Let's see...I'll disappear for a day or two, lull them into a weather-induced happiness, and then pounce back and crush their dreams!"
Me: "You won't catch me this time humidity! I'm still using my frizz serum every day just in case."
Humidity: "Foiled again!"
And that's how I single-handedly changed the seasons in New Orleans. True Story. The End. (until next May)
Come Monday, I promise to have lots and lots of completed projects and quilted eye candy for you to ogle!
